Titanium equipment is widely used in various industrial and civilian fields due to its high strength, low density, excellent corrosion resistance, and good biocompatibility.

 

Aircraft Structural Components: Titanium alloys (such as TC4 and Ti-6Al-4V) processed from imported titanium ore are used to manufacture aircraft fuselage frames, wing skins, landing gear, etc. Their lightweight properties reduce aircraft fuel consumption (a 1kg weight reduction can reduce fuel consumption by approximately 0.7L/hour), while also exhibiting excellent fatigue resistance in high-altitude, high-pressure environments.

 

Engine Components: Titanium alloys are used to manufacture compressor blades, casings, etc., for aero-engines. They can withstand temperatures of 300-600℃ and high-speed airflow impacts. For example, titanium alloys account for 25% of the CFM56 engine.

 

Spacecraft Materials: Rocket shells, satellite supports, etc., use titanium alloys to meet the stability requirements of extreme temperature differences (-270℃ to +120℃) and radiation environments in space. For example, the fuel tanks of China's Long March series rockets use titanium alloys. Chemical Equipment: Titanium is used in the manufacture of seawater desalination equipment (such as distillers and heat exchangers), electrolytic cells in the chlor-alkali industry, and reactors for fertilizer production, because it is virtually non-corrosive in strong acid and alkali environments (such as hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid) and seawater. For example, the titanium alloy heat exchangers in a large seawater desalination plant have a service life of over 20 years, far exceeding the 5 years of ordinary steel.
